Dacia, the Romanian subsidiary of Renault, has unveiled its latest model, the Dacia Duster Extreme. The Duster Extreme is a special edition of the popular compact SUV that features a more aggressive design, enhanced performance, and improved technology.
The Duster Extreme is based on the facelifted version of the second-generation Dacia Duster that was launched in 2021. The facelifted Duster received a new front grille, LED headlights and taillights, redesigned bumpers and wheels, and a revamped interior with a larger touchscreen and digital instrument cluster.
The 2023 Dacia Duster Extreme takes the facelifted Duster to a new level with a distinctive exterior that includes a matte black paint with orange accents, a roof rack with LED spotlights, 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, and Extreme badges on the front fenders and tailgate.
The interior of the Duster Extreme also features some exclusive elements, such as orange stitching on the seats and steering wheel, carbon fiber trim on the dashboard and door panels, and a leather-wrapped gear knob. The Duster Extreme also comes with a 9.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a rearview camera, and a wireless smartphone charging pad.
The Duster Extreme is powered by a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 150 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system with three modes: Auto, Lock, and Eco. The Duster Extreme can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 10.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 121 mph.
The Duster Extreme also boasts some off-road capabilities, thanks to its 8.3 inches of ground clearance, 30-degree approach angle, 34-degree departure angle, and 21-degree breakover angle. The Duster Extreme also has a hill descent control system that helps the driver maintain a constant speed when going downhill.
The 2023 Dacia Duster Extreme is on sale with a starting price of around $28,000 (23,900 euros). The Duster Extreme will be limited to 2,000 units and will be available in select markets such as Romania, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the UK.
The Duster Extreme is part of Dacia's strategy to expand its presence in the European market and attract more customers who are looking for affordable yet stylish and capable SUVs. Dacia also plans to launch its Dacia Spring Extreme electric car.
