In 1982, the first Opel Corsa was made, marking the beginning of a long and prosperous history. Forty years and six model generations later, over 14 million units have been produced. The demand for Opel Corsa-e one hundred percent electric city car is higher than ever, and it is breaking all sales records. Opel will soon release a special edition of the Corsa 40 Years in many European countries to mark the occasion. The German manufacturer released the first images of this limited edition model.

Opel will only make 1,982 of the special edition and will feature a new body color called "Rekord Red," which is a nod to the red of the original Corsa A. This exterior tone converses with a black roof treatment, as do skins like the Opel Blitz emblem, the Opel flash that opens the trunk, and the model's name in the middle. Adding to the sporty vibe, are 17-inch light-alloy wheels finished in high-gloss black with matte gray inserts.

There's a touch of nostalgia inside the Opel Corsa 40 Years, but it's also very much of its time. The cabin stands out because it retains the spirit of the original model while updating it with a modern twist, as evidenced by the return of the lovely tartan fabric of the seats. The buyer will also be offered a pair of limited edition tartan socks at no extra cost if he decides to forego donning this classic design. Here we have a couple with the new, improved style and a classic set for comparison.

Every aspect of the limited release, including the packaging, will be unique. Located in the center of the passenger side dashboard's black trim is a plate with a unique number for each Opel Corsa 40 Years produced between 0000 and 1982. In addition, this special edition Corsa includes a comprehensive set of standard convenience and security features. LED headlights, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection are just a few of the electronic driver assistance systems on the list.
